After months in discussions where we have been pressing Berkeley to open the long-planned Station Road pedestrian access, it is now finally open.
The access route is beside the estate's old South Lodge, at the junction between Church Road and Station Road. Local residents can now make use of this new, additional access route from the village, in addition to the existing entrance on Silwood Road.
South Lodge up until around 2010 used to be a children's daycare nursery, but has been out of use ever since.
Over the next few years, there may be further alterations to the appearance of the Station Road entrance, as work to restore the South Lodge building commences.
